Mass/Lev Students At Misericordia University

FOR PUBLICATION Opening Picnic 2

Misericordia University hosted more than 1,500 students, staff and faculty at the annual Opening Day Picnic on the lawn of the Banks StFOR PUBLICATION Opening Picnic 2udent Center on Monday, Aug. 31 including students from Massapequa and Levittown.  The event was held to celebrate the first day of classes at the institution of higher learning where approximately 3,100 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled for the fall semester in full- and part-time academic programs. The outdoor picnic allowed the students to mix and mingle with faculty and staff at the campus where caring and personal attention are a hallmark of a Sisters of Mercy education.

Among those enjoying the picnic luncheon are a group of first-year students who met and became friends during orientation activities. Participating in the picnic, from left, are Rebecca Osborne ’19, a nursing major from Boyertown, PA, Matthew Beck ’19, a student in the pre-Physician Assistant Studies Program, and Emily Caulfield ’19, a nursing student, both from Massapequa, and Steven Pabon ’19, of Levittown.
