Twelve Wheatley School students have been named commended students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. The students are Gabriel Besada, Jessie Cao, Arihant Jain, Haseeb Jangda, Samantha Leong, Julian Nathan, Jeffrey Poomkudy, Ashwin Reddy, Andrew Schloss, Christopher Shen, Jaclyn Stroud and Cindy Zhou.
More than 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2016 competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
The performance of these dozen students speaks to their academic talents and educational commitment. The school wishes them the best as they pursue their educational opportunities.
