C’est tres bon for children in the community with beginner French, fun and food starting this fall at the Manhasset Public Library. Students in second to fifth grade are invited to join this free program that runs on Mondays at 4 p.m. First Time French, a new program offered by Manhasset Special Eduction Parent Teacher Association’s (SEPTA) Gifted and Talented division, starts on Oct. 19 and runs every Monday for seven weeks. Jessica Thalheimer heads the program as part of earning a Girl Scout gold award.
The program is held at the Manhasset Public Library at 30 Onderdonk Ave. on the third floor. Each session is one hour long, and the dates are Oct. 19 and 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. The program is free, but registration is required. Email manhassetseptagnt@gmail.com to sign up.
All children from the North Shore in second, third, fourth and fifth grade are welcome to join in the fun. Learn beginner French and have a taste of the culture and cuisine of France.
