Audit Approval At Board Meeting

The Independent Auditor’s Report presented by the certified public accounting firm, O’Connor Davies was accepted at the school board meeting which took place last Thursday night at Roslyn High School. The report issued an unqualified opinion of the district’s finances, which is the highest rating a school district can receive.

“They described our district has having a healthy fund balance,” said Barry Edelman, communications director. “They also gave us several management comments in which none were significant.”

As part of a school district’s annual audit, the district receives a management letter addressing any potential concerns. There were no concerns of any significance for the Roslyn district for the 2014-15 school year.

Results of the audit are posted online at the districts’ website, http://www2.roslynschools.org.

New administrative members were introduced at the board meeting including new assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Michael Goldspiel and the new principal of the Middle School, Craig Johanson. For the past four years, Johanson has served as assistant principal at the Middle School.

Also introduced at the meeting was new Assistant Principal at the Middle School, Dave Lazarus.

Members of the interview committee unanimously agreed that Lazarus’s qualifications and experience makes him a perfect fit for the Roslyn Middle School.
