North Shore Nursery School Begins The School Year

NSNS_101415AShortly after the Manhasset School District began for the year, the North Shore Nursery School classes commenced for the 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds.

For many of the two-year-olds, this was the first separation from their parents for any length of time. There were a few tears for children and parents alike, but with the warmth and compassion of their teachers, and meeting new friends—smiles were shortly had by all.

The 3-year-olds were greeted by an owl theme of “Whoo’s Starting School” which quickly got them comfortable with each other, the classroom routine and their teachers.

For the “Big Students on Campus”, better known as the Pre-K class—they were happy to greet friends and share summer stories. They were also gracious in welcoming the new children at their school, and making them feel right at home.

Parents, staff and children alike are all excited to start the school year with the traditional math, language arts and pre-writing skills. In addition, there are music, science and sports enrichment programs brought into the school.

North Shore Nursery School is a nonprofit Christian co-op school located inside the Community Reformed Church at 90 Plandome Rd. in Manhasset. Students are admitted from any race, color, creed and national and ethnic origin.

There are five-day options for all ages, and this year there is also a one-day, Friday morning only, Enrichment class open to any 3- or 4-year-old. There are a limited number of spots available in the class as well as the 3’s and 4’s class.
