Uniondale Burglar Swung Paddle at Victims, Cops Say

A Queens teenager was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Uniondale home, demanding cash from a resident and swinging a wooden paddle at the victim on Tuesday night, Nassau County police said.

Keno Jamell Ramsay, 19, of Cambria Heights, was charged with first-degree burglary, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said the suspect broke into an Atom Court home through a rear basement window, walked into the bedroom of a sleeping 53-year-old man, woke him up, and demanded money and food shortly before 10 p.m.

A struggle ensued between the suspect and the victim, who called for his 15-year-old son to help before the suspect picked up a large wooden paddle and swung it at the father and son, police said.

Ramsay was arrested shortly afterwards. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

The victim refused medical attention for injuries to his chest and arms.
