Several campaign banners for police commissioner were vandalized recently. The posters were located at Shore Road on Gulfway Marine opposite Stop & Shop’s main entrance, Port Washington Boulevard opposite Campus Drive on the fence, on the south side of Willowdale Avenue just before South Bayles Avenue on a fence and on South Bayles Avenue.
The banners were all for Steve Kaplan, who is running for police commissioner. His opponents’ banners were nearby and were left untouched. The incidents have been reported to the Port Washington Police and they are investigating.
Port Washington Police District Chief James Salerno said, “Four signs were damaged in total at four separate locations. An investigation is continuing.”
