Girl Scouts Kickoff Cookie Selling Season

Just as the holiday season is wrapping up, the Girl Scouts are gearing up for their cookie selling season. To kickoff the season, Cadette Troop 411 hosted a Cookie Kickoff for Daisies and Brownies so they could learn all about the cookies, selling strategies and setting goals.

There were several stations set up that allowed the Daisies and Brownies to taste cookies, make a goal-setting craft and learn how to sell more cookies. Girls got a chance to get a photo taken in a cookie costume and tested their cookie knowledge by playing a memory match game. After the tasting, the girls got to vote for their favorite cookie. The top-voted cookie was the ever-popular Samoas.

Girl Scouts are now offering a gluten-free cookie, Toffee-tastic. For those who do not want to purchase cookies for themselves, cookies can be purchased to be sent to military overseas through Operation Cookie or to a local food pantry.

The Girl Scout cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the country and generates immeasurable benefits for the girls. Through
the Girl Scout cookie program, girls develop skills such as goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. Support your local Girl Scout and help her reach her goal.
