A Roosevelt man was convicted Friday of killing his girlfriend’s 59-year old mother in the victim’s East Norwich home three years ago.
A Suffolk County jury found Antonio Christian, 28, guilty of first-degree murder.
Prosecutors said Christian crushed Saundra Simonée’s skull with a hammer after torturing the victim to get her bank card PIN number on the morning of Sept. 26, 2013.
He then dumped the victim’s body in Bay Shore and withdrew money from the victim’s account to buy a PlayStation, authorities said.
The victim’s daughter, Shatura Simonée, pleaded guilty last year to criminal facilitation and hindering prosecution for not helping her mother or calling 911.
Christian faces life in prison without parole when he is sentenced by Judge Mark Cohen on May 3.
