The Mineola Girls Track team improved their record last week to 3-3 defeating both Clarke and East Rockaway at their second league meet competition. Scoring was led by senior Velencia Hurd who won three events, the long jump, high jump and 200 meter dash. Nicole Chiu also made major contributions by winning the triple jump and placing second in the 400 meters. The win was solidified by Claudia Serna’s second place finish in the 3,000 meters, Katie Shi’s second place finish in the discus, and Briana Galimi’s second place shot put performance.
