Gabrielle Zaffiro, a sophomore on the North Shore High School women’s varsity basketball team, was recently selected for the Newsday All-Long First Team.
Coach Keith Freund said, “Gabrielle is the third North Shore athlete to make the prestigious Newsday All-LI Basketball First Team and the first sophomore to do so.”
Her accolades this year include: MSG Varsity All-LI First Team selection, All-State selection, Conference A3 Player of the Year, third straight All-County selection and second on Long Island in scoring at 27.2 points per game.
Additionally, Zaffiro scored her 1,000th point on Jan. 5 and became North Shore’s all-time scoring leader this year.
