With the assistance of special guests from Green Meadow Farms, Schwarting Elementary School students in the Plainedge School District learned about the importance of recycling and reducing waste to help animal habitats.
On hand was a representative from the farm who shared animal facts with students, as well as frogs, bugs, bunnies, birds, reptiles, hedgehogs, mice and a chicken for students to pet and admire.
The program reinforced the Effects of weather and pollution on the various species and exposed students to some animals they may not otherwise get to see up close.
