Port Washington UFSD 2016-17 Budget Passes

(District Statement on the Budget Vote/Trustee Election)

Thank you to all of the residents who participated in the 2016-17 school district budget vote and Board of Education trustee election. Voters approved the budget 2,401 to 823. With this support, the district will continue to provide a full academic and co-curricular program while also addressing staffing needs to accommodate our increasing enrollment.Port Washington News

Proposition #2 on the ballot, which authorizes the Board to accept offers for the sale of a five acre parcel of district-owned property located along the north side of Middle Neck Road in Sands Point, was approved by a vote of 812-510.

Additionally, four candidates ran for three seats on the Board of Education: Emily Beys, Christine Nadolne, David Sattinger and Karen Sloan. Beys and Sloan were elected to new three-year terms while Nadolne will fill an open seat that will expire June 30, 2017. Vote totals are as follows: Beys – 2,032, Sloan – 2,022, Nadolne – 1,651 and Sattinger – 1,369.
