Roslyn Boy Scouts Open House

Boy Scout_051216ACome by for an hour on Sunday, May 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Christopher Morley Park to sign up for Roslyn Boy Scout Troop 267.
Roslyn area boys in the fifth through ninth grade can try out new skills through hands-on exhibits and displays. Camping, canoeing, fire-building, first aid and outdoor skills are just a few of the more traditional activities.

Scouting’s new emphasis on STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) puts a new spin on America’s largest youth organization. See why college admission counselors look for Eagle Scouts to distinguish boys from the rest of the crowd. The day will include activities for the boys and a special parents’ orientation.

Troop 267 has always been open and diverse. All boys are welcome, and parents can become as involved as they like. Nearly 500 boys have passed through Roslyn’s Scouting program, which has “graduated” over 20 Eagle Scouts since its inaugural year in 1992.
Christopher Morley Park is at 500 Searingtown Rd. After the attendant’s booth, make a left into the parking lot and go all the way to the end. There will be plenty of signs to point you in the right direction. Call Steven Cahn at 516-621-3890 for details, for a rain date or if this date is inconvenient.
