Division Avenue High School juniors Danielle Mahn and MacArthur High School junior Matthew Bradshaw have each received a $28,000 scholarship to study computing at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology.
Mahn’s interest in computer science was sparked after having attended an all-women’s New York University cyber security camp last summer. She is the junior captain of Science Olympiad, an award-winner in the Long Island Science Congress, and a participant in Chemagination. Mahn was also a 2016 Bloomberg Affiliate runner-up of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. In addition, she is secretary of the National Honor Society and the Art Club, vice president of Big Dragons/Little Dragons, a member of Key Club, Mathletes and the Math National Honor Society.
Bradshaw said he is interested in pursuing the study of computer science. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Business Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Key Club and Mathletes. In addition to his academic studies, Bradshaw is a short stop on the MacArthur High School varsity baseball team and is an All-County designee for bowling.
The Levittown School District congratulates Danielle and Matthew on this exciting opportunity.
