The Roslyn administration hosted a Leadership Transition Ceremony on June 29 to welcome Allison Brown as she assumes the leadership role of superintendent of the Roslyn Public Schools and to thank Gerard W. Dempsey, Jr. as he steps down from that position after serving during the 2015–16 year.
The ceremony was attended by administrators, school district staff, summer program students and parents. Dempsey praised Brown and said she will be an excellent leader.
“I have admired her compassion for students and adults and have seen her demonstrate the indispensable social skills necessary for great leadership,” said Dempsey.
Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy applauded Brown’s past roles in the school district and enthusiastically embraced the promise of a successful future for the Roslyn schools under Brown’s leadership.
