Teachers Federal Credit Union, one of the country’s largest credit unions, recently donated $4,000 to Honor Flight, a non-profit organization created solely to honor American Veterans for their sacrifices. WWII and Korean War veterans from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties can participate. Top priority is given to WWII veterans who have not seen their memorial in Washington D.C. The flights to Washington D.C., deluxe tour bus service, T-shirts and meals are provided free to the veterans.
The June campaign to raise funds to be donated to Honor Flight was managed by TFCU employees active in the credit union’s Team TFCU organization. Throughout the month of June, $1 donations were collected at the credit union’s 25 branches.
“Our members and employees enthusiastically supported our nation’s veterans through their donations to Honor Flight. TFCU is a locally grown institution touching the lives of our friends and neighbors on a daily basis and is happy to support one of Long Island’s valued nonprofit organizations,” said Robert G. Allen, TFCU President/CEO.
