Temple Israel of Great Neck will be hosting Mordechai Rosenstein as its Artist-in-Residence from Wednesday, Nov. 2, through Sunday, Nov. 6.
Rosenstein will be giving Temple Israel and the community an opportunity to learn about his art and help inspire others to create their own artwork. The Hebrew alphabet is the essence of Rosenstein’s art, and his love of the flowing forms of letters is evident in every piece he creates. His vibrant shapes and colors enhance synagogue interiors, tapestries, paintings, murals and silk screen prints. His collection will be available for attendees to browse through.
The public will have two occasions at the synagogue to interact with Rosenstein. On the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 2, the community will have the opportunity to learn more about him and his art as they help influence a custom piece of artwork he will create for Temple Israel. On Saturday, Nov. 5, in the afternoon, Rosenstein will help participants explore their inner art as well as the art found through Torah study.
The temple is located at 108 Old Mill Rd. For additional information, call 516-482-7800.
