Students at New Hyde Park-based Little Sprouts Preschool celebrated Halloween recently with a trip to the “pumpkin patch” and an interactive pumpkin decorating session with their families.
Following a colorful costume parade and a performance of a number of holiday songs, children filed into the school gym. They festooned their pumpkins with cat, bat, witch, vampire and smiley faces, as well as feathers, pom poms, ribbons, streamers and other decorations. The creativity was contagious as moms, dads, grandparents and a few siblings joined the act. Students enjoyed Halloween treats and jack-o-lantern carving with their teachers afterward.
