Order and pick up holiday treats in town during the Center for Developmental Disabilities (CDD) Adult Day Services Family Association annual Thanksgiving Dessert Fundraiser from Francesco’s Bakery, which has been creating amazing goodies in Hicksville for close to 30 years. The proceeds will be used to provide needed items for the adult program, including iPads to assist communication capabilities for nonverbal adults, entertainment for participants, portable CD players and technology equipment to help participants engage with family, friends and the community. Ross Haber, a lifelong Great Neck resident and CDD participant, will be helping his family with local fundraising.

The CDD program provides close to 175 adults with training, skills and therapies that help them become viable contributors to their communities. Many work at local businesses and as volunteers, allowing them to not only learn, but also enhance their experience and the lives of those around them. CDD provides adults with autism and other developmental disabilities a sense of self-worth and increased independence.
