Support Jack Martins

America is rapidly approaching an extremely important election. As a long-time resident of Manhasset, I am concerned about the future of our community on a national level. Often our choice for Congress is more important than our presidential selection. Our outgoing U.S. Representative has done little for his constituents. It’s time for a fresh face in Congress, and that face is Jack Martins. Senator Jack Martins has done an exemplary job helping to improve the conditions in our community. Since coming to the State Senate in 2011, he has worked to cap property taxes, voted to cut income taxes for the middle class, worked to repeal the MTA payroll tax for small businesses and supported measures to aid homeless veterans.

As our representative, he has vowed to fight for tax cuts for families and small businesses, and to initiate regulatory reform. He will work to protect our national security in an ever-changing and dangerous world, and provide support for first responders.

I receive a weekly email from Senator Martins updating me on what’s happening in Albany as well as “alert” emails when something occurs that affects our community. When Hurricane Sandy hit us we had no power, no water, nothing. I was a governor of our Civic Association and we reached out to all our elected officials for help. We sought out our congressman, officials from the Town of North Hempstead, our Assembly representative. Everyone. Only one person returned our calls and helped us connect to LIPA and get our electricity back. That person was Senator Jack Martins.

I can’t say much about Senator Martin’s opponent. His main accomplishment in his career was leading Nassau County to the brink of fiscal ruin. As a physician I always advise my patients to see top specialists who have experience and integrity. It’s the same way in government. We need experience; we need someone with a proven record of working hard for his constituents. That person is Senator Jack Martins. On Nov. 8, vote to send Jack Martins to represent New York’s Third Congressional District.
