A 48-year-old man was killed in a car crash in his hometown of Hampton Bays on Monday evening.

Southampton Town Police said Antonio Lucas was driving a Toyota southbound on State Road 24 when he lost control of the vehicle at the corner of Montauk Highway at 7:09 p.m.

The Toyota struck an minivan on Montauk Highway, then crashed into two parked unoccupied trucks in the parking lot of the Hampton Bays Diner, police said.

The victim was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The other driver was not injured.

Detectives impounded the Toyota, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-702-2230.
