A Manhattan man was sentenced Thursday to 25 years to life in prison for the revenge killing a 32-year-old Brooklyn man in West Babylon nearly a decade ago.
A Suffolk County jury had convicted Daniel Greenspan guilty of second-degree murder in March for shooting Michael Sinclair to death on Kellum Street on Jan. 31, 2009.
Prosecutors have said the 30-year-old gunman had his then-girlfriend, Noriella Santos, lure Sinclair—who Santos previously had sex with—to LI under false pretenses after Greenspan contracted herpes from Santos and Santos blamed Sinclair for giving it to her.
Officers found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds after responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired, police have said. The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died.
Greenspan was arrested in December 2015. Santos pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and is scheduled to be sentenced June 14.
