An 82-year-old man was killed when the car he was a passenger in crashed in his hometown of Woodbury on Friday night.

Nassau County police said a 20-year-old man was driving a Honda Accord eastbound on Woodbury Road when the car left the roadway and struck a wooden utility pole across from Verna Way at 10:21 p.m.

Jaffer Abdulrazak was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. The driver and a 54-year-old woman who was also a passenger were also hospitalized for treatment of their injuries.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation, which they consider non-criminal.
