The Great Neck South High School Community Action Committee hosted a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for a filled room of enthusiastic senior citizens at the Great Neck Social Center on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
The students prepared and served a delicious meal, which included turkey, stuffing, pasta, cranberries, beverages and desserts.
“Ms. Marley Goldman supervised this celebration with the utmost patience and warmth,” said Martha Cohen, one of the moderators of World in Depth at the center. “The students were gracious, efficient and oh-so-welcomed by a group of seniors in our community.”
After dinner, Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso presented a citation to the students to acknowledge them for all of their work preparing and serving the dinner to the seniors.
“The food was delicious with all the trimmings of a Thanksgiving feast,” Cohen continued. “We thank the students from the Community Action Committee for their preparation and marvelous intergenerational connection to our precious social center.”
