Available for adoption at the Little Shelter in Huntington:

The Honeymooners kittens are available now! Meet Alice, Ralph and Trixie, three funny little fuzzball kittens who are looking for their furever homes. Come into the Little Shelter and meet these comical kittens who are full of silly antics that will keep you laughing!

Ralph is the adventurous boy who loves getting into trouble and mews when in protest when he doesn’t get his way. Trixie loves getting belly rubs and stealing toys from Ralph which she hides under blankets. Little Alice is the quiet one of the group but likes to play wrestle with Ralph.

All three are snuggle bugs who love being held and purr up a storm when getting affection. Just like the classic TV show they were named after, The Honeymooner kittens are sure to change the lives of their new family bringing laughter into their new homes.

This gorgeous face belongs to Jackie, the small Labrador Retriever mix of around 1-year-old pup who was rescued from Hurricane devastated areas in Puerto Rico. Jackie is a very playful pup who loves meeting other people and pets, seeing the world as a wonderful place to play. Jackie enjoys playing with toys and going on long adventures where she can explore everything.

She would love to have a family with older kids that she could play with and would be a great addition to most households. She is ready for obedience classes to learn how to always put her best paw forward. Come in and meet Jackie today!

ghost
Ghost

Ghost is a fluffy black beauty who is looking for someone special to call his own. He loves other cats, toys and treats but can be a little shy around new people. When he isn’t cuddling up to the other kittens, he’s usually trying to build up the courage to ask for love from the volunteers.

He can be timid at first, but once he comes out of his shell he’ll climb all over you like a monkey! He loves getting his chin scratched and being petted along his back.

chris
Chris

Chris is a fun-loving cat who isn’t afraid of anything. He’s a 2-year-old cat who thinks he’s still a kitten. He adores being pampered with brushes and kisses. Of course, he also binges out on the snacks, so you shouldn’t leave the open treat bag around.

His playful behavior and kitten-like energy is perfect for young children and a busy family. He also gets along great with other pets.

For more information about adopting Ghost and Chris, contact the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter at 631-651-9788 or visit at 104 Deposit Rd. in East Northport.

Available for adoption at the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter:

Mocha
Mocha

It’s amazing that Mocha, named for his smooth, coffee-colored coat, has not been adopted yet! This happy guy arrived at the shelter in September 2017 after his family moved and could not take him with them. As you can tell from the photo, Mocha is a ham who loves to pose for photos and enjoys a good tennis ball.

Although he is very playful, he will never pass up a cuddle session. His favorite thing is to chew a toy while relaxing in your lap. Even at 72 pounds, he still thinks he’s a lap dog.

After working with The Shelter Connection’s Progressive Pit Program, it seems that Mocha is social with other dogs but needs some work on his exuberance while playing with them. Due to his size and “puppy-ish” personality, the shelter believes Mocha would do best in a home with children 12+ and a meeting with everyone in the household is required.

If you think Mocha would be a perfect addition to your home, contact the Town of North Hempstead Animal at 516-944-8220 or visit at 75 Marino Ave. in Port Washington.

Lexi mama
Lexi Mama

Lexi Mama is the beautiful, tan-and-white, 5-year-old girl that has been waiting for a forever home for way too long. Lexi Mama first came to the shelter in 2014 as a stray, was reclaimed by her owner, only to reappear in 2015. This time, her owner didn’t come back for her.

As much the volunteers and staff love Lexi Mama, they were not happy to see her again. Lexi Mama is playful with toys and displayed no issues with people near her food. She can be wary of new people, but quickly warms up and becomes quite loving.

Lexi Mama used to live with a male dog and appears slightly nervous when meeting new dogs. She may prefer to be a solo dog, or perhaps there is a low-key dog out there that wants to be her sibling. This poor girl has been dealt a bad hand in life for sure, please help this lovely lady find her real forever home today!

furball
Furball

Furball could quite possibly have the sweetest face you’ve ever seen! This long haired, 8-year-old girl is truly too cute for words. This sweet gal came to the shelter after being abandoned in a home with her two siblings.

Furball has FIV (which doesn’t stop her for a second) and could put a smile on anyone’s face. Furball is very sweet, loves attention and affection, and and will make the best feline companion ever!

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington:

Pom Pom
Pom Pom

Pom Pom arrived as an overwhelmed kitten and has lived most of his life tucked away in a quiet space as he gets all the love and attention he needs to prepare for his life in a home. This almost 3-year-old recently moved into a cage-free space where he is fully enjoys his perch, gazing out windows, and playing with his toys all day long. He loves having visitors and will jump immediately into their laps to make sure they know he wants to be friends.

He can be awkward at times, so a quiet home with no children and someone with cat experience would be his ideal human. You’ll enjoy receiving lots of attention from him, including high fives! Pom Pom is a delightful character and staff and volunteers look forward to him completing his adoption story by going to his very first home, hopefully with you!
