Blazing Trails Benefits Autism Foundation Runners, walkers and anyone who wants to support the Eden II & Genesis programs for people with Autism are invited to Great Neck South High School on Sunday, Sept. 9, for the Blazing Trails 4 Autism 4 Mile Run.
The challenging but fair four-mile course covers residential roads in Lake Success before returning to the Great Neck South Campus to finish on the high school track. There will be a one and a half-mile Fun Walk that will also be available for those who don’t want to try the four-mile distance. Both the four miler and the Fun Walk will start promptly at 8:30 a.m.
The entire net proceeds of the event will benefit the Eden II & Genesis Foundation and the work the Foundation is doing to improve the lives of children and adults with Autism.
Every entrant in either the run or the walk will receive a commemorative hooded sweatshirt.
Awards in the four-mile run will be given to the top male and female overall finishers, the top male and female masters finishers, the top three male and female finishers in each of 17 age groups ranging from 12 and under through 85 and over, the top three Clydesdale and Athena finishers in each of two Weight Divisions, and the top three wheelchair finishers.
There will be post race refreshments, as well as musical entertainment provided throughout the morning. There will also be a collection of post-run door prizes, highlighted by a road bike with helmet and accessories valued at more than $500 generously donated by Brickwell Cycling and Multisports.
