Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but since February is National Hot Breakfast Month, only the best breakfast will do.
Long Islanders voted Maureen’s Kitchen Best Breakfast on Long Island in the 2018 Bethpage Best of Long Island contest.
Go cow-crazy over at Maureen’s Kitchen in Smithtown. A breakfast oasis, you would be hard-pressed to find a better breakfast (or lunch) anywhere on Long Island. The lovely Victorian house is decorated in all things dairy (the walls, tablecloths, and chair coverings are all cow-themed and guests continue to donate their personal cow collections to the place).
The delicious down-home items include traditional French toast, stuffed croissants, pistachio pancakes, and endless delectable choices. Started in 1985 by Maureen Dernbach, Maureen’s is now run by son Kevin and daughter Christine. Maureen’s Kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
