Long Island Memorial Day Parades 2019

Memorial Day weekend is back, and that means it’s time to line up for local parades honoring American military service members that made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

Hempstead
Everyone is invited to attend the Village of Hempstead’s 133rd Annual Memorial Day Parade. There will be banners, floats and more. A ceremony will be held at Greenfield Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. before the parade. Starts at Legion Square, 160 Marvin Ave., Hempstead. 2:30 p.m. May 26.

Plainview-Old Bethpage
Parade lasts about one hour and ends at Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Park on Washington Ave. Ceremony honoring local veterans to follow. 700 Old Country Rd., Plainview. 9 a.m. May 27.

Merrick
Starts at Veterans Plaza on Merrick Avenue, followed by ceremony at Merrick’s Veteran Memorial Park. 9:30 a.m. May 27.

Bay Shore
Starts at the corner of Lanier Lane and Main Street. Ends in front of the St. Patrick Cemetery. 10 a.m. May 27.

East Meadow
Begins at East Meadow High School, marches east on Hempstead Turnpike, then south on Prospect Avenue, and ends at Veterans Memorial Park. 10 a.m. May 27.

Wantagh
Starts at Wantagh Middle School and ends at the American Legion Post on Park Avenue. 10 a.m. May 27.

Farmingdale
Starts at Northside School, marches down Main Street, and ends at Village Hall. 10 a.m. May 27.

New Hyde Park
Starts at Garden City Park School on Central Avenue and followed by a ceremony at Garden City Park Fire Department Headquarters on Jericho Turnpike. 10 a.m. May 27.

Garden City
Starts at Cherry Valley Avenue and 10th Street and ends in front of the village’s war monuments in front of the Garden City Public Library. 10 a.m. May 27.

Long Beach
Begins at Ohio Avenue and West Beech Street at and ends at the reviewing stand on Park Avenue in front of City Hall. 10 a.m. May 27.

Malverne
The parade will begin on Church Street. Marchers will parade through the Westwood Section. The Memorial Day Ceremony will be held immediately following the parade at the Gazebo in Reese Memorial Park. 10 a.m. May 27.

Massapequa Park
Begins westbound on Front Street, then northbound on Park Boulevard, to Clark Boulevard to Broadway, south on Broadway to Klestinec Park, where a Memorial Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place. 10 a.m. May 27.

Northport
Located at Village Park. 10 a.m. May 27.

Levittown
Starts at Island Trees Middle School on Wantagh Avenue and ends at Shelter Lane near the Levittown Library. 10 a.m. May 27.

Smithtown
Starts at corner of Larkfield Road and Jericho Turnpike, marches east before ending at Cannon Park. 10 a.m. May 27.

Oyster Bay
Starts at South Street and corner of Adams Street, heads eastbound on Main Street, heads north on Ships Point Lane, stops for waterfront ceremony, then marches down Florence Avenue to Main Street, ending at Derby Hall Bandstand. 10:30 a.m. May 27.

East Islip
Starts at the corner of Greenwood Avenue and Main Street and ends at Town Hall. 2 p.m. May 27.
