Fantastic felines and some of the cutest canines on Long Island make up this weeks list of animals that are ready to be adopted by you today!
Available for adoption through Private Rescue:
Twelve-week-old Rose is as beautiful as her name. This sweet gal was rescued by local rescuer John Debacker, and since then has been spayed and vetted and ready to find her forever home. Rose’s only limitation is a hole the doctors found in her heart as well as a heart murmur, but neither slow her down in the least bit. Rose will need medication her whole life, but cats with this condition live long, normal lives all the time. If you can fill the hole in this little girls heart, please contact John Debacker through FaceBook or email him at johnd7293@gmail.com for more information today!
Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:

Ladies and gentleman, please allow us to introduce you to the world’s greatest cuddle monster, Kobe! Kobe is a 3-year-old Male English Bulldog and Pittie mix with an adorable face that makes him impossible to resist. This total goofball will perform to get your attention. Kobe’s sweet and energetic disposition knows no bias. He loves every person, big or small, unconditionally. Kobe absolutely adores children but would prefer to be the only pet in the household, vying for your love and friendship.
Kobe was dealt a bad hand in life, suffering from a chronic heart condition. His future soulmate will need to go the extra mile by giving him daily medication and a yearly checkup with a cardiologist. It’s also equally important to avoid taking him on long walks or being outside during hot weather. Despite his heart condition, and a tough start to life, Kobe has a sheer will to live, love and play unlike any other pup. His amazing demeanor and unbreakable spirit gives hope that he is destined to find a warmhearted furrever family that will care for him as unconditionally as he loves everyone he meets.
If you are interested in meeting Kobe, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in a domestic setting, which includes the shelters Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail. Family Pet Meet and Greets and at home interactions are also welcome and an integral part of the adoption process. Don’t wait, call 631-360-7575 today.
Available for adoption through North Shore Animal League America:
After diligently caring for her kittens in our comfy nursery, 2-year-old Cocoa (Adoption #BF3453) has been rewarded with a safe place to wait for her sweet new life to begin. Locally rescued, she’ll never have to experience the dangers of the streets again. Cocoa’s future is secure as she waits in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center for a family to discover her. You’ll find her cozying up to her snuggly blanket as she dreams of replacing it with your lap. Don’t miss out on making this terrific tortie a member of your family.
Locally rescued Maseru (Adoption #L80605) needed a little bit of convincing that a safe place inside Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center is indeed the place to be. With some patience and gentle purrsuation this shy 9-month-old beauty will be melting in your hands. A quiet home with someone committed to giving her all the encouragement she needs to shed her trepidation will yield a lifetime bond.
Candy (Adoption #IR1637) traveled a very long way to meet you—all the way from Puerto Rico! Although she left sunny skies and warm sand beaches behind, she’ll happily settle into her first real home, a safe, loving space with you to nurture her spirit. This lovely one-year-old lady needs some gentle reassurance that she is safe and sound. Be the final leg of her long journey when she settles into your heart and home.
**Double Adoption** After all they’ve been through together, the dynamic duo of Mrs. Potts (Adoption #NCI1675) and Maurice (Adoption #NCI1677) plan to never leave each other’s side. After their rescue from upstate New York, Maurice needed some medical attention for his eye, and Mrs. Potts has been faithfully comforting him through his recovery. Now these healthy, shy 4-month-old kittens are ready to let go of their worries and fully embrace the ear rubs you’re willing to offer them. Mrs. Potts and Maurice are looking forward to a lifetime of cuddles together, but they’d be happy to include you in their plans!
Four-year-old Tommy Hilfiger (Adoption #G25257) isn’t looking to share the limelight with anyone else. This quiet Georgia import has designs on your heart and will wait patiently for you to discover him. Chin rubs lead to lengthy visits to your lap and will lead to a lifetime of loyalty only a rescue pet knows how to give. Tommy is being successfully treated for allergies through a healthy prescription diet. Meanwhile, he’s a staff favorite usually found in the kennel managers’ office. If you’d like to create a beautiful life together, see where a simple chin rub will lead you!
If 4-year-old JJ Abrams (Adoption #H207754) could direct the story of his life, he’d probably prefer it to be less of a blockbuster and more of a romance. This sweet, gentle soul has needed some extra loving care since he joined North Shore Animal League America. Now that their dedicated medical team has a successful plan in place to treat his FLUTD, they’re ready to help JJ find someone to develop a new project with him: an epic love story to last the rest of his life. If you’d like to collaborate on this with him, he’s casting lead roles today!
