Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter:

Tyson
Tyson

**Special Adoption Request** Tyson is a 3-year-old Labrador mix in need of a new home. Sadly, his dad, a 9/11 first responder and hero, has fallen too ill to properly care for this sweet boy. What Tyson needs now is a hero family who will shower him with unconditional love. This very sweet and energetic pup knows his basic commands, adores to play fetch and run around outside! He is an outgoing and social dog who begs for the attention of every new person he meets. Tyson would thrive as the only pet in the home, without small children.

If you are interested in meeting Tyson, please fill out an adoption application online or call 631-360-7575 today for more information today.

Available for adoption through Pets4Luv:Cocoa

Cocoa was rescued by a local trapper and due to her sweet demeaner, found herself with a temporary foster. At just 8 months old, this sweet and calm girl enjoys being held and pet. Cocoa is a bit shy and will need time to adjust to a new owner and home. If you are interested in adopting this adorable gal, please contact Pets4Luv at 516-860-7057 or email [email protected]

Available for adoption through Private Rescue:

Gidget
Gidget

**Special Adoption Request** Check out Gidget! This beautiful gal is so special, a gorgeous healthy tripod rocking her black and white tuxedo. Born May 12, 2019 and found in a colony in a strip mall, Gidget was likely born without a foot and only has a thigh on her right hind side. But that doesn’t stop her, she is mobile as can be. Gidget had a litter of kittens who were also rescued and adopted, and now its her turn to find her purrfect home. Gidget is a calm cat, with a very sweet temperament. She doesn’t hiss, bite or lunge. She’s a very clean kitty, uses the litter box, plays a little and loves to socialize with the other cats in the house. Gidget doesn’t like human touch. Gidget is a special girl needing a special home. She would do best in a multi cat home where she can just fit into the crowd with an understanding owner that can love her for who she is. For more information, please contact Dawn at 631-627-2572.

Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:

Pinto
Pinto

Pinto was found as a stray in October 2017, making him one the shelter’s top 10 longest residents. He was found on someone’s property and followed the homeowner inside her home. (Heart breaking, we know). With slow intros with other dogs, Pinto will feel comfortable, but he doesn’t appreciate overly pushy dogs. Pinto is a very insecure and nervous dog, so his ideal home is with a savvy owner who has experience with guarding. During his stay at the shelter, staff and volunteers continue to work on loose leash walking and commands like “place,” “sit,” and “down.”

For more information about adopting Pinto, please call the shelter at 516-785-5220 ext. 4641 or  email [email protected] today!

Available for adoption through North Shore Animal League America:

Joey
Joey

Good Samaritans rushed to Joey’s (Adoption #H210727) aid when he needed attention after sustaining a traumatic injury. NSALA’s medical team became his next set of heroes as they mended his pelvic injuries which left him with a charming nub tail and a heart full of gratitude. Despite adversity, Joey has shown nothing but the deepest appreciation for being safe and sound within a comfy space in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center. Now this 1-year-old just waits for the next set of heroes to discover him and be on the receiving end of those epic head butts.

Pie
Pie

Shy Pie (Adoption #SPC226) is getting used to the changes in her life after losing her trusted human and her only home recently. Fortunately, NSALA has a beautiful sunny room for Pie to settle into in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center until her next family discovers her. This lovely 10-year-old lady is healthy, content, and enjoys the company of her feline friends. She’d be overjoyed to be part of a calm family who’ll provide her cozy beds and comfort as she adjusts to a new home. You’re going to want extra servings of Pie once she claims you as hers!

Fritz and Ellie
Fritz and Ellie

**Double Adoption** When Fritz (Adoption #BF2122) and Ellie (Adoption #BF2124) lost their home due to their humans’ allergies, North Shore Animal League America gave them a quiet, comfy place in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center to wait for their fresh start. These shy 3-year-old brother and sister seek a home with children 10 and older in age and adults with fearful cat experience willing to offer them some peace and quiet as they adjust to their new setting. Bonus points if you have a confident cat in your home looking for some playful new friends. With only a little patience, you’ll discover the playful sides of Fritz and Ellie; these sweet siblings will be livening up your living room in no time!

Mr. Henry
Mr. Henry

Mr. Henry (Adoption #BF3547) comes dressed in his best tuxedo, hoping to make a grand impression on his next family. This regal 5-year-old gentleman recently lost his home and is looking for a stylish human with whom to start anew. He’s FIV+ but we’re positive that won’t slow him down from finding the next great love of his life—you! If you’re in need of a handsome date, you couldn’t make a better choice than Mr. Henry!

Ricky
Ricky

Six-year-old Ricky (Adoption H210859) recently lost his home and needs our help to find his way back to a family. This tender tabby has a lot on his mind, so NSALA gave him a cube to make him feel better and he’s quite content to greet you there.  Once you win him over with some ear rubs and treats, watch him come out of his shell! A quiet home is all Ricky needs to show you his devotion. If that sounds like yours, please introduce yourself to him. You’ll be beginning a beautiful relationship sure to brighten all of your days!

Finch 1
Finch

When 3-year-old Finch’s (Adoption #NCI0280) life hit a bump, she was enthusiastically greeted back into North Shore Animal League America Family. This adorable tabby started her journey with NSALA’s sister shelter in Glen Falls but needed some attention from their downstate Medical team to assess her cerebellar hypoplasia. Her wobbly condition only adds to her charm. CH cats are well known for being delightfully affectionate, and Finch is no exception. If you’d like to include someone purrfectly imperfect in your family, you’ll be the luckiest human to let Finch soar straight into your heart.
