Everyone knows that two cats are always better than one, especially when they’re a bonded pair! This mother (about 2 years old) and her son (around 1 year old) were abandoned locally and are in need of a forever home. They are two very sweet and litter trained cats that would love to make your home their home too. For more information, contact Kim at 516-512-2344.
Available for adoption through Tender Loving Cats
Check out Archie! This debonair 8-year-old is beyond sweet and oh-so mellow. His foster says he enjoys belly rubs and will roll around for them. Archie is not only handsome but laid back with the small dog in the foster’s home. He is looking for love and a warm place to chill with his perfect match. Are you willing to take a chance on Archie?
And look at this gorgeous gray domestic long-haired cat named Luna who is super sweet and really enjoys being petted and brushed and will also rub herself on the cat scratchers. This is a lap cat who is shy at first until she warms up to you, but she’ll be snuggling in your lap in no time! Luna is also good with children and not opposed to dogs. She is ready for her forever home.
To adopt Archie or Luna, complete an adoption application here: tenderlovingcats.org/adoption-application.html. Once approved, staff will schedule an in-purrson meetup for you!
Available for adoption at the Smithtown Animal Shelter
**Senior Alert** Toby is quite the handsome 12-year-old Chihuahua Mix who has had a difficult life. He’s been bounced from home to home over the past few years and is looking for a forever home that will give him some stability. Toby is a total sweetheart who loves to be outside and go for walks. He is gentle and happy to be around people whenever he can. Toby gets along with just about everyone, but he will do best with other gentle pets and with older children who won’t pounce on him.
If you are interested in meeting Toby, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with him in a domestic setting, which includes the shelter’s Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail. 631-360-7575.
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America
Teddy Bear (Adoption #T103559) is a super-friendly 6-month-old male Border Collie mix who made his way to North Shore Animal League America all the way from Tennessee. Teddy Bear is looking for a home where his family will patiently teach him being outside in a fenced in yard can be fun (he can be a bit nervous amidst so many new sights, sounds, smells, and friends) and help him overcome his tendency to be shy in new settings.
How can you not fall in love with a smile like that? Lucy (Adoption #T103566) is a 6-month-old Australian Shepherd mix rescued by North Shore Animal League’s partners in Tennessee. She loves to cuddle, and she loves to play. No, really… she loves, loves, loves to play. That puppy energy multiplied by Aussie Shepherd energy means Lucy needs a home where she has plenty of space to run and a family (kids ages 8 and up who can handle her exuberance and goofy puppy exploits) ready to match the joy she greets each day with.
Meet 7-month-old Kileen (Adoption #LA2567), a Shepherd mix all the way from Louisiana. This young lady is looking for an adopter with previous dog experience and ready to work with her as she continued to learn how to be a companion and family member. If you have another dog in the household, she’d like a playdate at our adoption facilities so she can meet her potential canine sibling. In fact, she’d like to meet your whole family – she’s looking for an active home ready for a high-energy, athletic dog.
Lainey (Adoption # LA3153) is a 6-month-old Pointer mix rescued in Louisiana and ready to party! Every day is a tongue-out day with this happy girl – especially if she has the chance to play with other dogs and go in the pool! Think Lainey is the right addition to your life and family? Come meet this bathing beauty in person at the Port Washington campus today.
Looking for a sweet-as-can-be little lady to light up your world? Hershey (Adoption #SCR3122) is a 1-year-old Akita/Collie mix rescued from South Carolina. This very cuddly, loving girl is looking for a home that can give her just as much love (and match her high energy.) Is that home yours?
Available for adoption at the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter
Look at this little meatball! Blaze was an owner surrender at only a year old and he will be somebody’s jewel! Blaze is a strong boy who will need continued training; he is proficient in sit though! Blaze loves to play fetch and he is good about sharing his toys. He will need work with how to cool down after getting worked up and a little self-restraint with the love he wants to share. This boy is full of joy and loves meeting people. Blaze has tested well so far with other dogs; a meet & greet at the shelter to check compatibility will be needed. But don’t wait too long. Call the shelter today at 631-643-9270 for more information.
As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
