The Massapequa community will gather for a parade Wednesday to celebrate the Massapequa Coast Little League teams, one of which recently competed in the Little League World Series.
Massapequa Coast’s 12-year-old division became the Metro-Region Champions earlier this month and competed against a Hawaiian team, which advanced to the next round in the World Series. The little league organization’s 12-year-old softball division and 11-year-old divisions have also won recent New York State championships.
“We are so proud of our hometown champions and invite the entire community to come out and cheer them on as we celebrate with a parade in downtown Massapequa Park,” said Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Saladino. “These amazing young athletes are an inspiration to us all and we are thrilled to celebrate and acknowledge their sportsmanship, perseverance and dedication.”
