Republicans flipped three New York State Senate seats on Long Island in Tuesday’s elections, but Democratic leaders maintain it wasn’t enough to give the GOP the majority in Albany’s upper legislative chamber.
Two friends dreamed of having their own brewery after working together at a craft beer distributor in Brooklyn and winning the Pride of Brooklyn Homebrew Competition. In 2015, they founded Garvies Point Brewery and leased 3,000 square feet in an industrial building across from the waterfront.
Owners of the Sayville Motor Lodge and their co-conspirators have been arrested for alleged sex trafficking and drug activity at the motel, federal authorities said.
