Pride Month Events on Long Island 2023

June is Pride Month, a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and culture, as well as a time to recognize the challenges that those in the community face.

Over the next few weeks, Long Island will be home to numerous parades and events for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other queer and gender non-conforming folks, along with allies.

Here is a list of Pride Month events on Long Island for everyone to enjoy and attend to learn more about LGBTQ+ issues.

Pride Month Events on Long Island 2023

East End Friday Night Out: Paint Your Pride

Any LGBTQ+ youths interested in art? Then head over to this event where you will be provided with all the materials to paint with peers. The Hamptons LGBT Center, 44 Union St., Sag Harbor. Advanced registration required Ages 13-18 only. 6-8:30 p.m. June 9.

Pride on the Farm

Celebrate pride with different farm animals, wagon rides, music, dancing, and more. The event is being held in tandem with Stony Brook Medicine to provide educational resources for both youth and adults. Suffolk County Farm and Education Center, Yaphank. Free. 4-7 p.m. June 10.

Pride Month: Art Class

Here’s an opportunity to work on Keith Haring-inspired art work. Using a unique combination of colors, create your own immersive canvas! Connetquot River State Park Preserve, Sunrise Highway, Bohemia. $4, Advanced registration required. 10 a.m.-Noon June 10.

Long Island Pride

Join in on this year’s annual celebration, which includes a parade, concert, and festival. TV personality Ross Matthews will be the grand marshal of the 5-hour event. Huntington Village, Huntington. Free. $25 to register a group for the parade. 12 p.m.-5 p.m. June 11. 

Outside of the June 11 festival, Long Island Pride will also be hosting events in Freeport (June 10), Northport (June 17), Bayshore (June 20) and Greenport (June 24).

Hampton Bays Mingle Mingle

This 50+ event is a great way for older LGBTQ+ folks to meet up in a comfortable and relaxed environment. 25 Ponquogue Ave., Hamptons Bays. 3-5 p.m. June 15.

Pride Night with the NY Mets

Citi Field is hosting Pride Night when the Mets take on the St. Louis Cardinals on June 16. Proceeds will support the LGBT Network’s anti-bullying programs in Long Island and NYC schools. $36.50 per ticket, Advanced registration required. 7 p.m. June 16.

Pride After Dark

Interested in some late-night fun? This is your chance to attend a pride-themed party, filled with a drag show, lip-syncing, dancing and more. There will also be an opportunity to register for free HIV testing. HOF-USA Building at Hofstra University, Garden City. Free, Advanced registration required. 6-11 p.m. June 17.

Rainbow Lantern Walk

Interested in a walk with the community under the lights? Take a stroll surrounded by rainbow lanterns! Caleb Smith State Park, Smithtown. $4, Advanced registration required. 8-9:30 p.m. June 17.

Governor’s Pride Show in the Giggle Room

How does a drag show celebrating pride with a comedic twist sound? Find out in this adult-only event! Open to ages 16+. Governor’s Comedy Club, Levittown. $25 admission, Advance registration required. 8 p.m. June 23.

Huntington Family Pride Picnic

Made for families, the 2nd annual pride picnic will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with music, entertainment and food trucks on-site at the Huntington Harbor. Mill Dam Park, Huntington. Free. 1-4 p.m. June 25.
