The July Membership Meeting of Loggia Glen Cove #1016 was a special occasion as the lodge honored outstanding young people with scholarships. Congratulations were extended to the scholarship recipients and their families.

Recipients of scholarships on behalf of the local lodge included Olivia Gallo (scholarship in memory of Lisa Carrera), Gabriel Wasserman (scholarship in memory of Madeline De Bellis McCord), Joseph Cipollino (scholarship in memory of Therese Della Vecchia) and John Della Ratta (scholarship in memory of Lorenzo Martone).

The recipients of the Loggia Glen Cove #1016 Dante Award for Excellence in Italian included Virginia Graziosi (Glen Cove High School), Bella Martocci (North Shore High School) and Taylor Vlacich (Locust Valley High School).

Community Service Award recipients included Matteo Cameron (Glen Cove High School), Sofia Martini (North Shore High School) and Ainsley Johnson (Locust Valley High School).

State Scholarship recipients included Ava DeLuca, Virginia Graziosi and Gabriel Wasserman.

The scholarship recipients were awarded citations by Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck on behalf of the City of Glen Cove and County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton on behalf of the Nassau County Legislature, and Councilman John Zozzaro on behalf of Assemblyman Charles Lavine.

President Marisa Cipriano Gambino praised the scholarship recipients, stating, “These scholarships reflect our commitment to supporting the next generation of Italian-American leaders in our community. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to their continued success.”

The lodge also bid farewell and extended congratulations to William Sanfilippo, who has served Loggia Glen Cove as District Deputy for over six years and who will be taking on a new role as NYS District II Trustee. President Gambino remarked, “Will has dedicated himself to our lodge, and his leadership has made a lasting impact on all of us. We are grateful for his service and wish him the very best in his new position.”

President Marisa Cipriano Gambino, 1st Vice President Mark Galluccio, 2nd Vice President Rocco Totino, and the entire board and membership extend their appreciation to all members in attendance, the elected officials, and the volunteers who contributed to the success of the meeting.
