The Great Neck Library will present “Becoming the United States,” an art exhibit about America from colonial times to the Reconstruction era.
This traveling exhibit was created by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History using items from their collection. It explores individuals, groups and documents that have contributed to the history of the United States.
The exhibit is courtesy of the Long Island Library Resources Council (LILRC), one of New York’s nine Library Resources Systems. LILRC is a regional multi-type library organization serving academic, hospital, special, public, and school libraries, library systems, museums and historical societies in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Their purpose is to enhance access to information, encourage resource sharing, promote innovation in libraries, and advocate for library interests.
The exhibit will be at the Great Neck Library Lower-Level Gallery, 159 Bayview Ave in Great Neck, from Nov. 13 to Dec. 12 during library hours. For more information, contact Great Neck Library at 516-466-8055 or email adultprogramming@greatnecklibrary.org.
