The Junior Players of Great Neck North High School will present “Chicago: Teen Edition” on Friday, Nov. 21, and Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. All performances will take place in the school’s Bernard Kaplan Auditorium at 35 Polo Road.

“Chicago: Teen Edition” follows the story of Roxie Hart, a young woman who dreams of becoming a star. When she finds herself on trial for the murder of Fred Casely, she turns to the infamous lawyer Billy Flynn for help. Along the way, she meets the other inmates of the Cook County Jail, including the glamorous Velma Kelly, and the story follows the two women as they compete for the spotlight in a battle for fame and fortune.

Set in Chicago during the Jazz Age, the original musical was based on a 1926 play of the same name. “Chicago: Teen Edition” has been adapted from the popular musical to be more suitable for young adults.

This production is under the direction of English teacher Michael Norberto. “Chicago: Teen Edition” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals (www.concordtheatricals.com).

Tickets are available in advance for $15 for adults and $10 for children, students and seniors 65+ at performingartsgreatnecknorth.ludus.com. Proceeds benefit the North High Junior Players. For more information, call 516-441-4751.
