The Karen and Ed Adler Gallery at the Port Washington Public Library will host “We Are,” a solo exhibition by artist Victoria Selbach, running from March 3 through April 30. The show features large-scale montage paintings that explore the connection between humanity and the natural world.

A reception is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with an artist presentation at 3 p.m.

The exhibition coincides with Earth Month 2026 and invites viewers to reflect on shared human experiences and collective responsibility for the planet. Selbach’s series presents silhouetted figures within montages of natural imagery, highlighting the interconnectedness of people and the environment.

“The series invites us to look beyond differences that often divide us and recognize what unites us at our core,” Selbach said in a press release. “It is a call to action to care for one another and for the Earth we share.”

Selbach, a former Port Washington resident now based in rural Connecticut, is known for life-size depictions of contemporary women and for using her artwork to explore generational legacies and human connection. Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the Heckscher Museum of Art, the Butler Institute of American Art, the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, and the MEAM Museum in Barcelona.

Currently, Selbach’s piece, “We Are Joy Seekers,” is part of the Every Woman Biennial 2026 at Pen+Brush Gallery in New York City, on view March 8 through April 11.
