Herricks Community Players To Open With Beau Jest

The Herricks Community Players will open with the comedy Beau Jest on the stage of the Herricks Community Theater, 999 Herricks Road, at 8 p.m. Beau Jest is a hilarious, heartwarming play centered around Sara Goldman, a nice Jewish girl who is dating a non-Jewish man, but for her father’s birthday, she hires an actor to play her Jewish suitor. It turns out that he is not Jewish either and she panics and part of the panic is the funniest part of the show. Tickets are $22 for adults and $17 for senior citizens and children. Herricks High School To Hold Semiformal

In conjunction with the new Herricks High School Homecoming schedule, Herricks High School will hold a semiformal at 7 p.m. in the new gym.

New Hyde Park Memorial High School Homecoming

New Hyde Park Memorial High School will hold its Annual Homecoming celebration starting with a parade on Hillside Boulevard that will wind through the streets of New Hyde Park ending at the football field. This year’s theme is entitled “Around The World” and all the floats created by each class will reflect that theme. At the halftime of the football game, the float winners will be announced, as well the names of the New Hyde Park Memorial King and Queen.

Herricks Cub Pack No. 202 To Hold Rummage Sale

Herricks Cub Pack No. 202 will hold a rummage sale on the Herricks Community Center front lawn, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Rain location is the gym.) Sale to include new clothes, gently worn clothes, baby items, household goods, electronics and toys. All proceeds will go to the activities of the Cubs and all leftover items will be donated to worthy charity.

Trinity Lutheran Church To Hold Craft Fair

Trinity Lutheran Church, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Durham Avenue, will hold a Craft/Vendor Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Along with many vendors, lunch will be available along with delicious homemade cakes and there will be a Chinese Auction. First Presbyterian To Hold Christmas Boutique

The First Presbyterian Church of New Hyde Park, 16 South 9th Street, New Hyde Park will hold a Christmas Boutique from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be handcrafted items, Chinese Auction, White Elephants, deli take out, or eat in, food, estate jewelry, Christmas gifts, baked goods, and more. John McNeur To Hold Music and College Informational Session

At 7:30 p.m. James McNeur, Director of Music and Performing Arts at Herricks on Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Herricks Music Boosters Association will sponsor a Music and College Informational Session. John McNeur, Director of Music and Performing Arts at Herricks will present ways in which a student’s music experiences can help in the process of college application and acceptance. The options of college level music involvement will also be discussed. The session will be held in the Herricks High School Cafeteria and is free and open to the public. Williston Park Civic Association To Hold Meeting

The Williston Park Civic will hold its general meeting between 7 and 9 p.m. at the 3rd floor assembly room in the village of Williston Park. Breakfast Club Fundraiser To Honor Rocco Iannarelli

Long Island Breakfast Club has announced that it will honor North Hempstead Town Receiver of Taxes Rocco Iannarelli at an Italian Heritage Day Event entitled An Evening in Tuscany to be held at The Westbury Manor, Jericho, from 6 to 11 p.m. Tickets are available at $85 per person. Herricks Reschedules Homecoming

Due to the construction of the Herricks High School track, and the inability to use the football field, the Herricks High School Homecoming has been rescheduled to start at 3 p.m. with a community barbecue. From 3 to 3:30 p.m. will be the presentation of the floats to parade around the high school circle and then march to the Herricks Community Center. At 4 p.m. there will be a barbecue and presentation of dignitaries, honorees, classes, clubs, etc. At 5 p.m. the Varsity football team and cheerleaders will depart for Tully Park, off Denton Avenue. At 6 p.m. a bus and car caravan will depart for Tully Park and at 7 p.m. will be the kickoff of the football game between the Herricks Highlanders vs. The Oceanside Sailors.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation to Hold Harvest Fair
