College Scholarships for MacArthur Generals Baseball Players

The MacArthur baseball program is proud to announce three more seniors have accepted baseball scholarships for next year’s college season. Nick Bologna, a corner infielder, will play at Post University in Connecticut, Rob Gaertner, a pitcher and outfielder, will play at Queens College, and Sal Sanquini, a pitcher and third baseman, will play at Dominican College. All three young men will receive athletic scholarships as well as academic funding.

Nick Bologna has provided outstanding defense for the Generals at both first and third base, while driving in crucial runs in several MacArthur victories. Rob Gaertner, back to baseball after two years excelling in track, has won three games as a pitcher and is one of the Generals’ leading hitters. Sal Sanquini has started four games on the mound and every other game at third base for MacArthur. Sal earned All-League honors as a junior.

Amazingly, the addition of these student athletes means that nine senior members of this year’s MacArthur baseball program have accepted scholarships for next season. Each of these young men worked diligently on the baseball field and in the classroom and represent the standards of student athletes for the Levittown School District. MacArthur varsity coaches Steve Costello and Vin Causeman wish them all the best in their college careers.
