After her performance in Black Swan, one of the most highly acclaimed movies of the year, Mila Kunis is set for her next big role.
According to Variety Kunis will play Theodora, the youngest of three witches in “Oz, the Great and Powerful,” the prequel to “The Wizard of Oz.”
Also starring in the prequel will be James Franco, who plays a fast-talking oil salesman and illusionist, according to Variety.
Franco’s character is forced to flee a traveling circus and his hot air balloon gets caught up in a tornado, landing him in Oz–which is controlled by two wicked witches.
Kunis’ character starts off as a good witch, but after her failed romantic advances towards Franco’s character, she turns evil.
The movie is expected to be released in 2013 and will be produced by Joe Roth, according to Variety.
