School Budgets Pass; Horan, DellaCorte Win School Board Seats

Floral Park-Bellerose School District

The Floral Park-Bellerose School District (FPBSD) budget passed by a vote of 1,602 to 879, while the district’s Capital Reserve Fund Proposition (boiler replacement), also passed, 1607 to 712. FPBSD’s Transportation Proposition (fifth- and sixth-grade eligibility) passed 1,399 to 941.

In the Floral Park-Bellerose School Board elections for trustee, Mrs. Denise DellaCorte was elected to fill Robert Burke’s seat receiving 1,307 votes over Marc Mullen, who received 1,170 votes. Mrs. Jennell Horan was re-elected to her seat with 1,260 votes over her opponent Glen Rettinger, who received 1,140 votes.

Sewanhaka Central High School District

Sewanhaka Central School District budget passed by a vote of 4,628 to 3,028. Specifically the residents in FPBSD passed the budget by a vote of 1,432 to 897.
