Rebecca Black is back with “My Moment.” She released her second single on her official YouTube channel at 8 p.m. today.

Her newest single, “My Moment,” follows her rise to fame.

“I didn’t expect this. I’m still having a hard time grasping that I’m not just a kid from Anaheim Hills, that people know me,” stated Black on her website.

But she was no Justin Bieber and her rise to fame was quite rocky–She suffered harsh criticism and bad press following the release of her first single, “Friday.” The song got so much negative attention that even harsh critic Simon Cowell tried to stick up for her, telling People Magazine, ”I love her, the fact that she’s gotten so much publicity. People are so upset about the song, but I think it’s hysterical.”

“Weren’t you the one who said I would be nothing/ Well I’m about to prove you wrong/ I am not the only one who believes on something/ My one wish is about to come true,” sings Black in “My Moment,” as if to silence the critics. “I’m not stopping for you/ No matter what you do/ I will just keep on dreaming.”

Black proves that any publicity is good publicity. Once an unknown Anaheim Hills kid, thanks to the critics and the press, “Friday” had 167 million YouTube views and surpassed Bieber’s “Baby” in record climb. Black also became known across the nation and her single spawned a “Glee” episode that featured the song and got her a spot in Katy Perry’s new music video, “Last Friday Night.”
