The Chinese mobile phone company, Xiaomi, unveiled its first phone on the Android-based MIUI OS.
Today, Xiaomi, unveiled the MI-ONE. It comes as the first smartphone that relies on the new MIUI OS.
It’s cheaper than the iPhone 4 at $310 and will include 1 GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. The phone is reportedly powered by a Adreno 220 graphics processor.
According to Android Community, it will feature an 8MP unit rear camera and will use a 1930mA battery. The phone supports GPS and GLOSNASS systems. WiFi and Bluetooth are also available.
Android Community is also reporting that the phone weighs only 149 grams.
Engaget is reporting that the phone will be available for pre-order on August 29th for October delivery.
According to Global Post, the launch comes after Google announced a $12.5 billion bid for Motorola Mobility putting Google in direct competition with Apple.
According to Phandroid, the new software will allow for completely themeable lockscreens complete with moving parts and backgrounds. As seen towards the end of the video is color themes which gives it a Google look.
