Taylor Armstrong speaks out following the suicide of her estranged husband, Russell Armstrong.
“Taylor Armstrong is devasted by the tragic events that have unfolded,” her rep says in a statement, reported People. “She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter.”
Taylor, who filed for divorce just last month, also added that her “thoughts and prayers” were also with Russell’s two sons from previous relationships.
Earlier today, TMZ reported that Russell Armstrong was found dead late Monday night. Armstrong, 47, hanged himself and was found in his bedroom in a home on Mulholland Drive, California by a roommate. Armstrong was pronounced dead at 8:16 p.m. Monday.
The death was an apparent suicide. Russell leaves behind daughter, Kennedy, 5 and two sons from previous relationships.
Russell was suffering from not only the divorce petition, that the AP reported he had not responded to, but also financial troubles. According to the Associated Press, Russell Armstrong was an investment banker and venture capitalist that was sued last month for $1.5 million by a company claiming he and his estranged wife diverted money from investors to promote their lavish lifestyle.
Taylor is featured on the Bravo television show “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.” Earlier today Bravo issued a statement via Twitter, “All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family at this difficult time.” Some of the women of the “Real Housewives” cast offered their condolences via Twitter as well. Camille Grammer tweeted,” My sympathy and condolences go out to Taylor and Kennedy. My thoughts and prayers are with them” and Adrienne Maloof tweeted, “My heart goes out to Taylor Armstrong and Kennedy during this devastating time. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.”
