According to Nassau County Police, on Saturday at 1:35 a.m. a 20-year-old male victim was walking in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue and Monroe Street in Massapequa Park, when he was approached by two males who demanded money. The victim refused and was then attacked by both the defendants, Kenneth Hutchinson, 19, of the Bronx and Anthony Raia, 19, of the Bronx. The victim fought back and both defendants fled the scene on foot with no proceeds. The victim call 911 and the defendants were found a short time later walking eastbound on Sunrise Highway where they were arrested. Subsequent to investigation, defendant Raia was found to have Alprazolam pills on his person without a prescription.
Both the defendants are charged with Attempted Robbery. Raia is also charged with Criminal Possession of a Control Substance. They were arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
