A time-lapse video of Earth from the International Space Station has gone viral this week.

The video first hit the internet September 15 and takes viewers on an amazing journey over Earth in just one minute. The video shows amazing images of North and South America. It even hops over cities like Los Angeles.

According to U.K.’s Daily Mail, the video is a compilation of time-lapse images shot from the International Space Station and pieced together by James Drake. Drake, a science teacher, put together the some 600 images he took from The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth website and created the one-minute video he then posted online.

Drake’s video can be viewed below or on his blog, infinity imagined, where he explains:

“A time-lapse taken from the front of the International Space Station as it orbits our planet at night. This movie begins over the Pacific Ocean and continues over North and South America before entering daylight near Antarctica. Visible cities, countries and landmarks include (in order) Vancouver Island, Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Fransisco, Los Angeles. Phoenix. Multiple cities in Texas, New Mexico and Mexico. Mexico City, the Gulf of Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, Lightning in the Pacific Ocean, Guatemala, Panama, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and the Amazon. Also visible is the Earths ionosphere (thin yellow line) and the stars of our galaxy.”
