Everyone’s favorite Black Widow is back, along with Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, in a brief two-minute clip from “The Avengers.”
Fans waiting patiently for movie to hit the big screen in 2012, received a taste of the movie this past week through the first trailer for “The Avengers” which was released Tuesday.
The two-minute teaser establishes the movie’s premise, the team pulling the world back from disaster when an enemy emerges and threatens global safety and security—the story of Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., who recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.
“The Avengers” was produced by Marvel Studios and is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team—Marvel superheros have been taking the world by storm since “Iron Man” in 2008—and the movie crosses over several Marvel films including “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
According to the L.A. Times, the film is directed by Joss Whedon of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, among others.
The trailer is a teaser for Marvel Studios appearance in New York later this week. Marvel Studios is scheduled to hold a presentation at the New York Comic Con, that kicks off Thursday, October 13. It will feature new footage and a panel discussion that will include producer, Kevin Feige and other cast members.
