Volunteers are needed at Mount Sinai Harbor (Cedar Beach) this weekend (Oct. 22 & 23) to help with a shellfish restoration project from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Coastal Steward needs as many volunteers that can come down to the area to unload a 30-yard roll-off dumpster filled with shells into bags that the organization will use to set 15 million oyster larvae on in the spring.
There is a lot to do and community service credit will be given to volunteers.
The organization will also be putting the racks (38) of baby oysters down for the winter, which means scuba diving down with the racks and tying them together.
